Against a warm peach-pink silk ground, the Annam birds are rendered with extraordinary delicacy: long necks arched, wings spread, each feather delineated in fine zari filaments.
The Annam is one of the most revered motifs in the Kanjeevaram weaving tradition, appearing in temple sculptures and classical dance costumes alike — a symbol of beauty, grace, and the ability to discern the good from the impure.
