Woven in Patan, Gujarat — the ancient capital of the Solanki dynasty — Patola silk has been coveted by royalty, merchants, and connoisseurs for over 900 years. Single ikat Patola, where the weft threads are resist-dyed before weaving to create the characteristic geometric patterns, demands extraordinary skill and patience from the weaver.
