Kerala Cotton Sarees
Kerala cotton sarees — known as Kasavu sarees — are one of India's most iconic and instantly recognisable handloom traditions. Woven in the handloom clusters of Balaramapuram, Chendamangalam, and Kuthampully, these sarees are characterised by their pristine white or off-white cotton body and the distinctive gold zari border and pallu that give them their name. The Kasavu saree is the traditional dress of Kerala's women — worn for Onam, Vishu, temple visits, and weddings — and its simplicity is its greatest strength. There is nothing more elegant than a well-draped Kasavu saree: pure, luminous, and deeply rooted in Kerala's cultural identity.
