Madhubani painting or Mithila painting is a style practiced in the Mithila region of Indian State of Bihar. Painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments, and is characterized by eye-catching geometrical patterns.This fabric reflects the touch of the human hand, the sensibility and skill of the craftsman thus making every piece unique. Scenes and deity from ancient epics feature in their portrayal apart from social events like marriage and childbirth.
FABRIC: Tussar Silk , also often referred to as ‘Wild Silk, Tassar Silk, or Tusar Silk is an exquisite thread obtained from a wide winged moth that is yellowish-brown in colour. Tussar silk is a lot more textured than any other variety of Silk. The fabric is also cooler than the other varieties and is a lot more porous, therefore, breathable. Being cooler than the other varieties of Silk makes Tussar extremely wearable in warmer parts of the world. Tussar silk has shorter fibres, which makes it less durable. It has a dull gold sheen. Ghicha Silk is a high quality fabric, which provide glossy look to the saree. Its high quality natural fabrics makes it more durable and long lasting. Besides, there are numerous features of the fabric such as light weight, durable, shrinkage free and smooth texture, which make Ghicha Silk the most demanding fabric. Ghicha silk actually is the by product of tussar silk.
