Description
The Craft Story
Patan Patola is one of the rarest and most technically demanding handloom traditions in the world. Woven in Patan, Gujarat — the ancient capital of the Solanki dynasty — Patola silk has been coveted by royalty, merchants, and connoisseurs for over 900 years. The single ikat technique requires the weaver to resist-dye the weft threads in precise sequence before a single thread is placed on the loom. The vibrant green of this dupatta holds deep auspicious significance across Indian traditions — the colour of prosperity, new beginnings, and festive joy — rendered in the jewel-bright palette that is the hallmark of authentic Patan Patola.

Occasion & Styling
A magnificent dupatta for festive celebrations, wedding functions, and bridal trousseaus. The green Patola dupatta pairs beautifully with a plain silk saree or lehenga in ivory, gold, or deep jewel tones, allowing the dupatta to be the centrepiece of the ensemble. Especially stunning draped over a red or maroon Kanjeevaram saree for a heritage look that celebrates two great craft traditions.
Artisan Impact
Your purchase directly supports the livelihood of Patan Patola weavers — one of the smallest and most endangered weaving communities in India, with fewer than a handful of families still practising this tradition. Luxurion World pays above-fair compensation to every artisan, ensuring this 900-year-old tradition survives for future generations.
