Unlike cultivated mulberry silk, Tussar silk is produced by wild silkworms in their natural forest habitat, giving it a distinctive natural golden colour, a slightly textured surface, and a beautiful matte lustre that is entirely its own. Tussar silk fabric has a natural warmth and depth of colour that no dye can fully replicate — the natural golden-beige of undyed Tussar is one of the most beautiful colours in the natural world, while dyed Tussar takes colour with a richness and depth that makes every shade more complex and more beautiful.
