A Tussar silk dupatta is one of India's most naturally beautiful and most sustainably produced textile accessories — woven from the silk of wild silkworms that feed on the leaves of Arjun, Asan, and Sal trees in the forests of Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. Unlike cultivated mulberry silk, Tussar silk is produced by wild silkworms in their natural forest habitat, giving it a distinctive natural golden colour, a slightly textured surface, and a beautiful matte lustre that is entirely its own. Tussar silk dupattas have a natural warmth and depth of colour that no dye can fully replicate — the natural golden-beige of undyed Tussar is one of the most beautiful colours in the natural world, while dyed Tussar takes colour with a richness and depth that makes every shade more complex and more beautiful.
