Kalamkari Dupattas - Painted Panels
Kalamkari dupattas are wearable paintings — each one a canvas on which skilled artisans from Andhra Pradesh have used a bamboo pen (kalam) or hand-carved wooden blocks to render intricate mythological narratives, lush floral patterns, and bold geometric designs using only natural dyes derived from plants, minerals, and roots. The two great Kalamkari traditions — the freehand pen work of Srikalahasti and the block-printed Machilipatnam style — are both represented in our collection, offering customers the full range of this 3,000-year-old art form. A Kalamkari dupatta transforms any plain outfit into a gallery-worthy statement of Indian craft heritage.
