Molakulmuru is a town in the Chitradurga district on the borders of Karnataka. . The Sarees from this region are usually produced in silk and showcase a number of motifs and patterns, usually inspired by nature. They received special patronage during the time of Nalvadi Krishnarajendra Wodeyar, prince of Mysore. Recently, Molakalmuru Sarees have received the Geographical Indications tag, referring to the specific origin and specialized production of the saree in the town of Molakalmuru. The beautiful floral designs and the rich pallu make these sarees gorgeous and attractive. The long border saree has a contrast border and the traditional touch is its speciality. FABRIC: Pure Silk is widely regarded as the most luxurious textile on the planet. It is a natural fiber produced from the cocoons of mulberry silkworm via a process called Sericulture.Indian Silk fabrics are world famous for their exquisite colors and bold patterns. Pure silk is one of the finest varieties of Silk. It is created by twisting 2-filaments together to create a sturdier and more durable fabric. Due to the nature of its creation, it also makes an interesting textured background for any work that is to be done on the fabric to make it unique. It is known for its versatility, softness and comfort. It can be weakened by sunlight and perspiration. The elasticity of a silk fabric is poor, hence if stretched; it takes the shape as it is. It can be weakened if exposed to too much sunlight. It may also be attacked by insects, especially if left dirty. Care : Molakalmuru Sarees have to be carefully maintained as they are made of silk. These Sarees cannot be washed and should only be dry-cleaned. They should also be stored in cool, dry places in wraps of muslin. It is a good idea to keep moth balls within the folds of the muslin wrap. Note: There may be a slight colour variation in the image from original product due to various reasons like configuration of computer monitor, colour scheme of computer, lighting of the photograph etc.
