Details

The exquisite silken weave of the Patola textile is just not an art form but a heritage by all means. It is often called as “Queen of Silks”. Worn by royals and aristocrats on auspicious occasions and prized as a holy cloth even in South East Asia, the Patola finds mention in the 14th century travel accounts of Ibn Batuta, who gifted Patolas to kings. Since a genuine Patola is a very expensive saree, it is a matter of great pride to own one. The painstaking traditional process of spinning, tying-dyeing and weaving takes four or more people four to eight months to weave a piece. The resultant Patola silk has no reverse side as both the sides have equal intensities of colour and design. Patolas are also known for their bright striking colour combination, which remains intact for centuries as all colours are sourced organically. Although floral motifs, animals, birds and human figures are basic designs, but geometric patterns are in vogue. The scintillating Patola sarees at Luxurion World are authentic and so beautifully designed that it inspires awe for both the makers and the wearer. You were born to sparkle dear girl, and we at Luxurion World are happy to pave the way to it!

FABRIC: Pure Silk is widely regarded as the most luxurious textile on the planet. It is a natural fiber produced from the cocoons of mulberry silkworm via a process called Sericulture.Indian Silk fabrics are world famous for their exquisite colors and bold patterns. Pure silk or Katan Silk is one of the finest varieties of Silk. It is created by twisting 2-filaments together to create a sturdier and more durable fabric. Due to the nature of its creation, it also makes an interesting textured background for any work that is to be done on the fabric to make it unique. It is known for its versatility, softness and comfort. It can be weakened by sunlight and perspiration. The elasticity of a silk fabric is poor, hence if stretched; it takes the shape as it is. It can be weakened if exposed to too much sunlight. It may also be attacked by insects, especially if left dirty.
