Art on fabric is like a canvas that is wearable: The story of an artmaker which is depicted beautifully in the yards of fabric. Kalamkari art is one of these forms which is incredibly meticulous and gorgeous. It literally translates into pen (kalam) and work (kari). Artists paint into the textile surface, often depicting a mythological story or just prints of flowers and other designs. They are characterised by their colourful outlook which results from the usage of various natural colours during hand painting.

FABRIC: Tussar Silk , also often referred to as ‘Wild Silk, Tassar Silk, or Tusar Silk is an exquisite thread obtained from a wide winged moth that is yellowish-brown in colour. Tussar silk is a lot more textured than any other variety of Silk. The fabric is also cooler than the other varieties and is a lot more porous, therefore, breathable. Being cooler than the other varieties of Silk makes Tussar extremely wearable in warmer parts of the world. Tussar silk has shorter fibres, which makes it less durable. It has a dull gold sheen.
