Phulkari embroidery technique from Punjab region literally means flower work. Simple and sparsely embroidered odini (head scarfs), dupatta and shawls, made for everyday use, are called Phulkaris, The embroidery is done with floss silk thread on coarse hand woven cotton fabric.
