FABRIC; Tussar Silk , also often referred to as ‘Wild Silk, Tassar Silk, or Tusar Silk is an exquisite thread obtained from a wide winged moth that is yellowish-brown in colour. Tussar silk is a lot more textured than any other variety of Silk. The fabric is also cooler than the other varieties and is a lot more porous, therefore, breathable. Being cooler than the other varieties of Silk makes Tussar extremely wearable in warmer parts of the world It has a dull gold sheen. Tussar silk takes up colours quite easily due to its rich texture and the final product is a saree with a rich, deep hue with a natural shine.
Eri silk is durable and strong and has a typical texture. The name "eri" is derived from the Assamese word "era", which means "castor", as the silkworm feeds on castor plants.
