Discovering uncharted frontiers is the inspiration behind Alfred Dunhill’s latest Autumn/Winter season of fine writing instruments, a collection of fountain and ball point pens created with the spirit of exploration and innovation in mind.
Their Sentryman Limited Edition Explorer pen has been designed for the intrepid traveler and built to perform even in the most extreme of conditions.
With its interchangeable nibs, a single click of the pen’s sprung bayonet fitting will swap the fountain nib for a ball point nib that will work perfectly even 20 degrees below freezing. To top it all off, the red anodized aluminum body comes crowned with a luminous cap ring complete with an artificial flint feature in the barrel, one that will create a fire spark when struck against the carbonized steel pen cap.
Honor, bravery and innovation takes center stage in the Fighter Provenance Fountain Pen, a masterpiece crafted out of the original aluminum engine casing of the WW2 Spitfire fighter jet’s Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. Here, old-world heroism gets a hint of modern luxury, with the pen’s 18-carat gold, rhodium coated fountain nib.
Design details on the Fighter Provenance are closely referenced to the Spitfire aircraft, with bolt and rivet effects, a propeller-shaped pen clip, and a plexi-glass cap – the same material used to construct the bubble canopies on fighter planes at the time. |
